Footnotes:
1. Here are the liner notes from this album:
A few short months ago the name of DIONNE WARWICK was unknown
to the public. Then came "DON'T MAKE ME OVER" and now DIONNE WARWICK is a
name to reckon with.
First record, first hit. It's not as easy as it sounds.
DIONNE studied music for years. In time she became an accomplished singer
and pianist. Playing and singing in church every Sunday, her talent for
music flourished and grew. Her next step forward took DIONNE to the
recording studios of New York. There she sang in the background chorus on
many recording sessions. This was when she was first seen and heard by two
songwriters, BURT BACHARACH and HAL DAVID. They brought her to the
attention of the SCEPTER RECORD CO. and what followed is "DON'T MAKE ME OVER".
The strong dramatic reading of "DON'T MAKE ME OVER" is again
shown in "THIS EMPTY PLACE". The pensive side of DIONNE is captured in
"WISHIN' AND HOPIN'". From the happy go lucky "ZIP A DEE DO DAH" to the
broken hearted "I CRY ALONE", the many moods of DIONNE WARWICK are beautifully
expressed in this album.
What will the future bring? If we are to believe the
experts and we do, DIONNE will record hit after hit and become one of the bright
stars of show business. It couldn't happen to a nicer girl.

was released in October 1962 and by 5 January 1963 it reached
