They Don't Give Medals To Yesterday's Heroes

Dionne has bagged a total of five Grammy Awards and eight nominations; her earliest in 1968 for 'Do You Know The Way To San Jose' while her latest was in 1986 for 'That's What Friends Are For'.  The current eligibility period is October 1 through September 30.  Nominations and awards are issued early the following year.  Hence her 1968 award was presented in 1969.  Here is a list of her wins.

February 20 2003 - The Rhythm & Blues Foundation 13th Annual Pioneer Awards -  The Foundation's LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD goes to Dionne Warwick, a true international superstar with more than sixty records that have made the charts since 1963's Don't Make Me Over'.  The award was presented to her by Aretha Franklin.

March 20, 2003 - Global Diversity Award.  Presented to Dionne at the Royal Horticulture Society Hall, London ENGLAND

1.  Soul Train Awards 2003 - Originally scheduled to receive the life-time achievement award in 2003, she was replaced by Mariah Carey as she was unable to attend the award ceremony due to her hectic touring.

2.  Dionne has never won an American Music Award.
